How to configure IDrive One in the Internet pass through mode?

Switch on the IDrive One device - plug in using the AC adapter, press and release the power button, the 'Wi-Fi' symbol lights up.


There are two ways to initiate Internet access ('pass-through'), via IDrive One device

Method 1:

Using LAN based internet connection. Connect IDrive One device to the network using LAN cable, or better yet, for best results, connect the IDrive One device to the back of the router for optimal pass through internet connection.

Power on the IDrive One device, and from your desktop, tablet or mobile device, connect to the Wi-Fi network it broadcasts. (This will appear in your list of available networks as 'IDriveOne-XXXX').

To connect to IDrive One first time, use default network password '11111111'.

Method 2:

Power on the IDrive One device, and from your desktop, tablet, or mobile device, connect to the Wi-Fi network it broadcasts. (This will appear in your list of available networks as 'IDrive​One-XXXX')

  1. Open a web browser and go to http://10.10.10.254.
  2. Click/tap Login (no password required by default).
  3. Click/tap Settings.
  4. Click/tap Network.
  5. Select Internet from the menu options.
  6. Select the SSID of the wireless network that provides Internet connectivity, from the available SSIDs.
  7. Enter your network password (if required).
  8. Click/tap Save.

Use default network password '11111111' to connect to IDrive One.

Security Note: We recommend you to change the default password for the IDrive One device - open a web browser, go to http://10.10.10.254 and follow the wizard.

How do I connect to the IDrive One device wired from my computer?

Connect the USB cable from your computer to the IDrive One device. Press and release the power button, the 'Wi-Fi' symbol light goes off and only the disk light remains lit up.

You can consider the wired mode for the fastest possible speed of backup/restore, although the wireless mode is the most convenient one and also allows for multiple devices backup − concurrently up to 5 devices.

How do I set an access password for the IDrive One device?

By default, there is no password for the username, admin. To set a password of your choice, do the following:

  1. Connect your computer or mobile device to IDrive One.
    Note: By default, the device Wi-Fi network password is ‘11111111’.
  2. Using any web browser, go to http://10.10.10.254.
  3. In the Username field, enter admin and click/tap Login.
  4. Go to Settings > User > Admin.
  5. Enter Password and Confirm Password.
  6. Click/tap Save.

You have successfully set the access password for your IDrive One device.

How to set up the IDrive One device as a NAS device on your PC and Mac?

The following are the steps to setup the IDrive One device as a NAS device,

On PC

  1. Click Computer > Tools > Map network drive. The Map Network Drive dialog box appears.
  2. On the Drive field, choose a drive letter.
  3. Click Browse... .The Browse For Folder dialog box appears.


  4. Select IDRIVEWIFI and click OK.


  5. In the Windows Security dialog box, enter admin as the Username and click OK.

Note: The default password is blank. To change the default password for the IDrive One device - open a web browser, go to http://10.10.10.254 and follow the wizard.



  1. On the Browse For Folder window, open the IDRIVEWIFI directory tree and select a share folder. The default folder is WiFiDisk1-Volume1.
  2. Click OK and confirm the selected drive and the folder path.
  3. Click Finish.


On Mac

  1. From the Finder, select Go > Connect to Server... or press command K. The Connect to Server dialog box opens.
  2. In the Server Address field, enter smb://10.10.10.254 and click Connect.


  3. Select the Registered User option and enter admin as the Username and click Connect.

Note: The default password is blank. To change the default password for the IDrive One device - open a web browser, go to http://10.10.10.254 and follow the wizard.


What if I need to backup a file larger than 4 GB?

IDrive One uses the FAT32 file format, meaning the size limit of any stored file is 4 GB. If you'd like to upload files larger than 4 GB, simply reformat your IDrive One device to another format compatible with your operating system, such as exFat, NTFS etc.​

Can I update my IDrive One device Firmware?

There are no Firmware updates available at this time. However, as new versions are released, they'll be made available for download from our website.​

How do I reset my IDrive One device?

To reset the device, connect the device to the local computer to turn on the drive (the lights will come on). Then, using a paperclip or other thin, straight object, insert it into the opening labeled Reset and press and hold until the lights flash. Your IDrive One device will be reset to the default settings.


Do I need Internet connection to use the IDrive One device?

No. Internet connection is not required while using the IDrive One device. You can transfer, access and download your files just by connecting your devices to the IDrive One device.

What are the specifications of the IDrive One device?

The following are the specifications of the IDrive One device:

What is the speed and range of the IDrive One device?

The IDrive One device transfers data at the rate of up to 1.3 Gbps, triple the previous 802.11n standard. In addition, its simultaneous dual-band support transmits both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz at the same time. The effective range of the IDrive One device is 150 ft (45.72 meters).

How do I connect my mobile device to the IDrive One device?

You need to download the IDrive One app on your mobile device.

To connect your mobile device to the IDrive One device,

  1. Switch on the IDrive One device.
  2. On your mobile, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select IDrive One from the list that appears.
    Note: Use default password '11111111' to connect to the IDrive One device.
  3. Go to the IDrive One app.
  4. For first time login, enter username as 'admin', and click Done for authentication (no password required by default).


What data can I transfer to the IDrive One device?

The IDrive One app creates three default folders - Photos, Videos and Music - on your mobile device. The app segregates all your data, and transfers them to the respective folders.

Note: You can only transfer photos and videos from your iOS device.

How can I transfer data to the IDrive One device?

You can effortlessly transfer all the media files from your mobile device to the IDrive One device. All you need to ensure is that your mobile device is wirelessly connected.

To transfer files,

  1. Switch on the IDrive One device.
  2. On your mobile, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select IDrive One from the list that appears.
    Note: Use default password '11111111' to connect to the IDrive One device.
  3. Go to the IDrive One app.
  4. On the IDrive One home screen, a list of files transferred to the IDrive One device appears under the respective tabs.
  5. Tap the setting-Icon icon.
  6. By default, the radio button is turned ON for Photos, Videos and Music. Turn OFF the radio button corresponding to the folder that you do not wish to backup.

Note: You can also perform local backup to the IDrive One device via the IDrive application.

Can I transfer data from multiple devices simultaneously using the IDrive One device?

Yes. Data from up to 5 different Android or iOS devices can be transferred simultaneously to the IDrive One device.

I have transferred data from my mobile devices to the IDrive One device. Can I access it on my computers?

Yes. The IDrive One device offers cross-platform compatibility, which means data transferred from your mobile devices can be accessed on PC and Mac. Connect your computers to the IDrive One device wirelessly or via USB to view all your transferred data. While connecting through USB, make sure to switch off the Wi-Fi on the IDrive One device.




When I download files from the IDrive One device to my Android/iOS device, where does it get stored?

All your files downloaded from the IDrive One device gets stored in the respective default folders on your mobile device - photos and videos in Gallery and music files in the Music folder.

Can I download files that already exist on my device?

If the files you want to download already exist on your mobile device, you cannot download the same files again. Delete the files already existing on your mobile device to download the files again.

How can I download data using the IDrive One app?

You can download files from the IDrive One device to your mobile device with ease via the IDrive One app.

To retrieve,

  1. Switch on the IDrive One device.
  2. On your mobile, go to Settings > Wi-Fi and select IDrive One from the list that appears.
    Note: Use default password '11111111' to connect to the IDrive One device.
  3. Go to the IDrive One app.
  4. On the IDrive One home screen, a list of files transferred to the IDrive One device appears under the respective tabs.


  5. Tap Select.
  6. Tap the files to select them for download, and tap download .
